On Saturday, 7th December, some of the members of the AM I BOVERED youth group went up to Reynoldston church hall, in which they helped out in the angel factory. They had to dress up as angels and decorate a small stage with tinsel, Christmas lights etc. Then they prepared to "disguise" the participants of the stable trail into angels.
First, the participants would assemble before heading up into the angel factory where they would put on halos, have some sparkly glitter spray on their hair and wear a secret angel wristband to prove their new identity. After this, the angel would tell them to head to king Herod's palace, where they would begin their journey on which they had to follow the stars to find the baby king.
On the way they visited King Herod, his guard and his secretary as well as five "wise" men - all wearing fezzes, a hilarious sight - a few worried shepherds (Where has Shaun the sheep got to?) and a startling sight of some more angels, a few innkeepers to point them in the right direction and finally; Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus himself. Not to mention, at the end, Mary and Joseph gave them all some delicious chocolate coins. Yum yum!
Overall, it was a brilliant experience for the whole of AM I BOVERED - they enjoyed it thoroughly - and of course, all of the children who came along and had fun at the stable trail. We had 187 children there in total, and roughly 200 adults - that's a total of about 387 people - a brilliant success!
Below is a slideshow of all of the different points of the stable trail, as well as a map to get to Reynoldston - it is a lovely village, very friendly with nice houses and lots of animals.
